Aggie Muster in Jalalabad
As some know, I went to Texas A&M (much to the chagrin of many of my friends in the Greater Austin area). We Aggies have a tradition called Muster that is commemorated every April 21st. For the uninitiated, think of it as Aggie Memorial Day. Its a very solemn occassion where we honor the passing of all current and former students since the previous Muster.
Admittedly, I haven't exactly been the most active Former Student. I haven't been to a football game in years and I've been remis in keeping in touch with my local alumni club, but yesterday I rather fortuitously ran into a fellow Aggie here - with all the Aggies in the military, it happens but no so much way out here in far eastern Afghanistan. We decided to get together today to commemorate Muster and he even had a flag that he brings with him on every deployment! We took this picture to send back to fellow Aggies back home.

I love you anyway. :-)
(Daddy went to "the other school".)
Great to hear from you and to know you had a special day. Stay safe. Prayers & hugs from USA.....
You & I have very similar levels of "Aggieness" so I know just where you're coming from. I'm glad you were able to share Muster with a fellow Ag.

My respect for Aggies has just doubled. That's a really great tradition.

Ste. Whassup Bra. I forgot about your blog. I was looking at stuff about Clint online and happened upon it. It's kind of a moot point now that we are so close to being done. I look forward to seeing you guys soon. My unkempt blog is at wanderllustrious@blogspot.

LIke your blog alot. Happy Memorial day. Thanks for serving. Your aggie muster day prompted me to post this link of an Aggie that tragically died this last weel. He is about your age and was probaly at Texas Am at the same time. Later he became a Catholic Priest. Father Todd Reitmeyer. He graduated Aggie land in 93.
While on vacation in Texas he died in a Jet ski accident on Lake Travis. Perhaps you know him but if not remember him in your prayers I followed his blog a good bit. His funeral will be tomorrow. Not sure if you were in the Corp there but he was any way here is the link

Missed your blog while you were blogging from Afghanistan - really sorry too. Lived in Texas for sufficient years to have a great admiration for the Aggies. Glad you came home safely. Thanks for your service and God bless.
