The Army Combat Uniform (ACU)
We just recently were issued the new Army Combat Uniform. The Army is slowly phasing out familiar woodland-camoflauge Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) after nearly a quarter-century of service. The rest of the Army is getting them sometime next year, but Special Operations forces and some other selected units are deploying with them now.

I've only been wearing mine about a week and they'll never get me to go back! The best part is although the boots haven't changed much in design, the fact that they're suede means no more boot shining! And we here in Special Operations are authorized to wear the Oakley Special Forces Assault Boot. Its like having on Air Jordans! After wearing mine for a couple weeks I've started to get the feeling back in the tips of my toes that I lost wearing the old issue boots for the last eight months.
Military.com and Global Security.org have some decent articles on the ACU for those interested in learning more.

Mmmm... I always like a man in uniform.
He *does* look spiffy, I must say!
You look like a rock in that uniform!
Good boots. It about damn time. My feet still hurt when I talk long walks from the damage cause by road marching in the original combat boot.
Since when is a a Natty Guard soldier considered Special Ops??? Just because your tab says airborne doesn't mean you're special ops. You should be ashamed for portraying yourself as such and its a slap in the face of everyman thats wears the long tab....
To the anonymous idiot:
a) I'm not in the National Guard, I'm in the Reserve. The fact that you don't know the difference speaks volumes.
b) I'm in Special Operations command, not Special Forces. SF is *part* of SOC, so is Civil Affairs. Again, your ignorance is glaring.
c) The National Guard actually does have a Special Forces unit: 20th Group. So stop putting down the NG. They put their lives on the line too. I seriously doubt you ever did.
Now you know your Special Ops ABC's. Next time won't you think before speaking...and find another website to Troll on. What a dick.
